RaceCore features

Everything needed to run a club meeting

RaceCore is built around the way a meeting is actually operated: prepare the event, book drivers, generate heats, run races, publish results and move straight on to the next race.

Race Control

Load the next race, manage the inter-race interval, start timed races, process decoder crossings, manage finish windows and save the completed result.

  • Manual race-time adjustment
  • Pause, add time and Ready Now controls
  • Leader crossing indication
  • Stop/abort and recovery tools

Drivers & Classes

Maintain reusable driver and class records so a new meeting can be built quickly without re-entering the same information.

  • Driver/transponder records
  • BRCA number and member type fields
  • Reusable class race settings
  • Duplicate transponder warning

Qualifying Heats

Generate qualifying heats from the booked drivers and class capacity, then make manual adjustments when required.

  • Ability-based seeding
  • Fill or balance heat options
  • Manual same-class heat moves
  • Extra qualifying round button

Finals

Create finals from qualifying standings and run them in race order from lower finals through to the A final.

  • A/B/C/D final hierarchy
  • Single and multi-leg finals
  • Final grid editing
  • Overall classification by final level

Announcements

RaceCore can make the routine calls so the race director can concentrate on running the meeting.

  • Pre-race countdown calls
  • Driver/start-order announcements
  • Marshal calls
  • Race-order and improvement calls

Printing & Reports

Produce the paperwork needed during and after a meeting, with optional automatic printing after each race.

  • Race sheets
  • Heat listings
  • End-of-round standings
  • Championship reports and CSV export

Spectator Display

Run a separate second-screen display for drivers and spectators while keeping the timing PC focused on race control.

  • Light or dark theme
  • Live race order
  • Laps and predicted finish
  • Read-only display architecture

Practice Session

A dedicated practice mode becomes available when the decoder is connected, independent of the main meeting results.

  • Practice timing and personal bests
  • 10, 5 and 1 minute remaining calls
  • Separate spectator mode
  • Practice tab hidden without decoder

Safe Event Storage

Meetings are stored separately from the application files, making normal software upgrades much safer and keeping historic meetings available.

  • Independent meeting files
  • Master driver/class database
  • Recovery and backup support
  • Existing data retained across upgrades
Race-day workflow

Designed around the operator

A typical club meeting can be prepared and run without jumping between unrelated programs or retyping information.

1

Create or open the meeting

Select the meeting format, date and championship options, then choose the classes being run.

2

Book drivers

Add drivers from the master database, check transponders and generate the qualifying schedule.

3

Run qualifying

RaceCore manages race timing, calls, results and standings as each heat is completed.

4

Generate finals

When qualifying is complete, build the finals from the standings and run them in the correct final order.

5

Publish and report

Print results, championship standings and publish the meeting through RaceCore Web Live when licensed.

Championship management

Run the whole series, not just one meeting.

Link individual events to championship rounds and let RaceCore maintain the series table as the season progresses.

  • 100 points for 1st, 99 for 2nd and so on by default
  • DNS and DSQ score zero; a classified DNF keeps its finishing-position points
  • Count every round or use best-N-from-X scoring
  • From Round 2 onward, qualifying heats can be seeded from the current championship standings
  • Print championship tables directly from RaceCore
Also included

Reedy Race meetings

RaceCore includes a dedicated Reedy Race style mode with balanced race allocation, common-clock starts and its own standings calculation.

No finals are required in a Reedy Race meeting; the configured round-robin results determine the final standings.

RaceCore Web Live

Put the meeting online.

The optional Web Live licence publishes meeting information and results to the RaceCore website in a separate background process, keeping website communication away from the timing path.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I buy a licence?

Choose the required licence, complete the purchase form and pay the displayed amount by PayPal to paypal@nimrifrc.co.uk. Your Installation ID allows the licence to be generated for your RaceCore PC.

Does Web Live affect timing?

No. Website publishing is handled separately from the timing path so a slow or unavailable internet connection does not stop the local race meeting.

Can I try RaceCore first?

Yes. Choose the Windows 10/11 demo for current PCs or the separate Windows 7 legacy demo for a Windows 7 SP1 laptop, then use the PDF manual to see how RaceCore is configured and operated.

Will updates delete my meetings?

RaceCore stores writable meeting data separately from the installed application. Normal application upgrades are designed to retain existing meetings and databases.

Is Web Live included with RaceCore?

No. Web Live is optional and normally costs £29.95 per year. The first year is currently £14.98 under the promotion running until 30 June 2027.

What does RaceCore Broadcast cost?

Broadcast is £15 per month and requires an active Web Live licence. Until 30 June 2027, a one-year Broadcast licence can be purchased for £100 with one year of Web Live included.

Does RaceCore Broadcast save the video?

Not at present. The current service is designed as a live feed and keeps only a short rolling HLS window on the server rather than storing the entire meeting video.

What about major new features?

Major new versions or substantial new feature additions may be chargeable. Any upgrade charge will be stated before you decide whether to purchase it.
